LHPTA

Livmore High Park Tenants’ Association

We are the Livmore High Park Tenants’ Association (LHPTA) representing all tenants who live in the Livmore High Park buildings, located at 50 High Park Avenue and 55 Quebec Avenue in Toronto. In November 2022, the association formed out of the need to organize for fair rent increases. We have evolved to advocate for the fair treatment of our neighbors while fostering community.

By means of the association, all tenants are members empowered to unite for the common goal of demanding just living conditions.

The association is administered through a steering committee. Further, sub committees ensure specific goals are met through volunteer actions. Committee members must uphold a code of conduct that outlines the association’s value of inclusivity and respect. All members can further participate in planned community activities and tenants’ meetings.

Through the tenants’ meeting and committee actions, the association endeavors to build community and represent the needs of tenants towards the GWL Realty Advisors.

Steering Committee

The purpose of the LHPTA Steering Committee is to progress and maintain activities associated with the LHPTA, including:

  • Communication to tenants, GWLRA, and other stakeholders
  • Volunteer recruitment (floor captains, canvassers, etc.)
  • Event coordination (social events, canvassing, etc.)
  • Planning and running meetings

Having a Steering Committee helps ensure that work associated with LHPTA activities are shared among a group of people, rather than placing them on the responsibility of one person. The LHPTA will benefit from the pooled knowledge and skills of a group of people, more so than that of one person alone.
